If you need any assistance with the information below, please contact Third Party Services at 800-275-6215 or via e-mail at thirdpartyservice@nymex.com.

Customers wanting to use NYMEX Wireless Handhelds must:

  1. Choose a NYMEX certified Independent Software Vendor (ISV) from the list provided at http://www.nymex.com/cert_ISV.aspx.
  2. ISVs must be pre-approved by NYMEX and access to the electronic trading system must be certified by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME).

  3. Purchase a wireless tablet independently or through your Clearing Member. Although the Exchange recommends the Fujitsu 5030D and 1510 or the Toshiba M400, the choice of device is at the customer’s discretion. The device is required to run Microsoft XP and must accept a PCMCIA card bus adapter for network card insertion. Contact Third Party Services with advance notice of the model you will procure.

    Recommendation for wireless tablet:
    • Purchase two tablets and use one as a spare;
    • Configure both tablets in case of emergency;
    • Implement security login username and password; and
    • Install current anti-virus (AV) and firewall.

  4. Applicants are required to register themselves with the Exchange to receive access to the NYMEX Wireless Network. Please download the following PDF file which contains the registration form and the NYMEX Wireless User Terms of Service Agreement.
  5. NYMEX Wireless Handheld Registration and Terms of Service (PDF)

    To register with the Exchange, all applicants must:

    • Legal Documentation: Read and agree to required legal documents including, without limitation, the NYMEX Wireless User Terms of Service (and all relevant documents, schedules and appendices referenced therein); and
    • Registration Documentation: Submit a NYMEX Wireless User Registration Form with the following required information:
      • Primary Contact Information;
      • Secondary Contact Information;
      • Computer Information; and
      • Usage Information.

    Once the applicant completes the form, they must submit the form to the Wireless Valet Support Centers located on the NYMEX or COMEX Division Trading Floors.

  6. After approval, Third Party Services will contact the user to visit Network Engineering on the 15th Floor with your tablet where NYMEX personnel will install the wireless adapter and authentication software between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  7. Once installation is complete, the customer must perform basic testing and have the ISV software installed by the vendor or the firms own resource. The trader may have the ISV software installed before or after the network card and authentication client are installed in order to allow testing to begin.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No multicast traffic is permitted on the NYMEX Wireless Network independently or through your Clearing Member.
  • Neither NYMEX nor COMEX will not be involved in ISV software installation or support.
